A special commission to enhance all our Ottoman Silks designs is the arrival of our own silk velvet woven in Florence, Italy. The Italians had a unique relationship with the Ottomans. The procured the very best yarn for their satin and velvets and established themselves as the producers and traders of these exotic fabrics that were then sold to wealthy clients across Europe.
Our own silk velvet is an example of this quality fabric and compliments our original designs.
We are delighted to announce the arrival of Safiye. A beautiful powder blue and silver design from Murad III’s kaftan collection and a lighter silk for summer.
Kaftans worn by the great Sultans and now exhibited in Istanbul's Topkapi Palace, inspired this bespoke collection. Each fabric has been jacquard woven in silk and mirrors those hand-woven exotic fabrics worn around palaces during the days of the Empire.
